Navy Checked Cotton Sportcoat

We love our checked sportcoats - as anyone who has been following us for even a few weeks (let alone months) has probably noticed. From gun club tweed, through Prince of Wales and glen check woolens, to bright, colorful summer blends… But sometimes, you need something a little different - still undeniably checked, but with its own distinct character.

This time, we turned to cotton, woven in Italy by the renowned Albiate mill, in a weight perfectly suited for transitional seasons. The texture? A bit tweedy, slightly reminiscent of flannel - yet without the fuzziness, offering instead the dense softness of cotton. The pattern has real depth: a large navy, brown, and black check set against a subtle herringbone weave, which blends the colors seamlessly for a softer, more nuanced look.

This sportcoat pairs effortlessly with bright-colored shirts - even striped OCBDs - and other timeless classics. Wear it with jeans, chinos, or gabardine trousers in the essential shades of beige, brown, black, and indigo - basically any basic one you can find in your wardrobe.
