Square Scarf 'Fruit Tree’ Emile-Allain Séguy

For this season, we are expanding our ‘Masterpieces’ square scarves collection with a couple of Art Nouveau and Art Deco artworks, chosen to complement our seasonal tailoring and tie color palette.

This piece features the ‘Fruit Tree’ pattern from the Samarkand: 20 Color Compositions in the Oriental Style pochoir (stencil) pattern plates album, created by E. A. Séguy and published in Paris by Charles Massin around 1914. The collection includes 20 illustrated plates with ornamental designs, likely intended for textiles or wallpapers, featuring semi-abstract floral motifs inspired by the Oriental styles crafted by the artists of Samarkand. In our eyes, these designs are also ideal for modern applications, such as pocket squares.

We have printed this semi-abstract design on pure silk from the Como region of Italy, showcasing the vivid purple, blue, mint, and cream tones that match our sportcoats and suits exceptionally well. As with all our square scarves, the edges are hand-rolled by our skilled craftswomen here in Katowice.
