Chambray Asymmetrical Pocket Workshirt

For the first-ever Working Class collection release, we’ve prepared three shirts that we see as perfect work shirts – each in its own unique way. The chambray shirt is perhaps the most stereotypically workwear-inspired of the three – but definitely not the least interesting. We’ve all seen the iconic USN chambrays, their countless reproductions, and myriad reinterpretations... and it’s no wonder, as this is the shirt that originated the term blue collar.

Chambray cloth is traditionally bi-colored, similar to denim, with a white weft and colored warp – usually in dark blue, the shade we love and chose for ours. Historically, this fabric was often used for work shirts because it combines a relatively light weight with notable durability – virtues we still appreciate today.

The design embodies our vision of a contemporary work shirt – a slightly looser fitting (but not overly so!), designed enough to be worn both tucked in and untucked (for a more casual look) and, perhaps most importantly, featuring distinct, practical details, such as functional chest pockets (in this case, asymmetrical – a subtle nod to the 1930s ‘cigarette’ pocket), a soft long-point collar (a bit vintage, very Poszetka), and a three-panel sleeve for added reinforcement. In other words, lots of classic ingredients that combined make a modern whole: it’s workwear of the past, for the labor of today!

About fabric: The Working Class series is made from durable fabrics designed to withstand the test of time. Apart from the denim, these are all unwashed and untreated - they start tough but soften with each wear. Depending on how you treat them, they will develop a unique patina and wear pattern.
