While few of us like the cold season because of the ever-present grey and gloomy aura, let's remember that it's within our power to bring these interesting and colourful blobs into everyday life. So why not in the form of a tie?
We knew we could not cut corners in terms of quality of the cloth. The original wool challis comes from England and is hand printed. I visited the factory in Macclesfield and saw the whole process, both of wool and silk. Main difference between digital and hand printing is that the fabric is first washed in the dye to give it its background colour while the digital printing applies all the colours at once (hence the back of the digitally printed tie is usually white/-ish). Then, each colour of the pattern is applied separately using screens. That is why it is often called screen printing. Screen are made of an inch steel tubes with a fabric stretched over it. In the old days wooden panels had been used that had the pattern carved in wood.
Details / Quality:
Most of them in blue or red variations, colours that are versatile and go well with “winter” suit colours – brown, grey, charcoal or navy. Best combination – try it with a denim shirt!
Ties are made as 3 folds, untipped with hand rolled edges. We love how lightweight they are! Understand though that some of you would prefer a bit more weight into it. Bottle shaped alloow for very proportional size of the knot. This point of transition to narrow end should be well suited to most of you, unless you are a very tall or short man.
This is a limited collection, hence we could afford to make it special.
