Summer’s Almost Gone

Boys from our Katowice team celebrated the slow end of summer in the city, sharing an evening (and night) out among friends, documented by a few shots on 35mm analog film.

 

While you might point out that there’s still a whole month before autumn officially begins, all signs around suggest that summer’s almost gone, at least subjectively. The days are getting shorter, the light has that golden hue (accentuated here by Kodak Gold’s famous color palette); even the first leaves have already fallen in Katowice. People are returning from their vacations, traffic is intensifying, and even summer sales are coming to an end.

 

Don’t get us wrong - we’re not trying to sound negative here; we’re still thoroughly enjoying the current weather and the mood around us. There’s even something exciting about the seemingly pessimistic questions: ‘Is next weekend going to be the last truly hot one?’, ‘Are we going to get any more 30°C+ days this year?’, ‘Will I have a chance to wear this summer shirt once more?

 

 

Still, we weren’t asking any of these questions that day. We just all gathered together after work and wandered into the city, dressed as usual (dressed well, I mean), ready to have some fun.

 

If I remember correctly, Michał tried to convince us that his grey seersucker trousers matched Spodek’s facade texture really well. I’ll leave that for you to judge.

 

But I’m not entirely sure what Paweł was telling Beniamin when he was doing his ‘look at aaaaallll that’ gesture.

 

 

He looked the part, though.

 

 

It was all about chilling (helped by a cold one) here.

 

 

Meanwhile, Beniamin practiced his manual focus skills, playing with the camera - one day, I’ll get myself a sharp portrait, probably.
